Abstract
The current study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a language enrichment program based on an artificial intelligence application in developing the listening skill of autistic children and verifying the lasting impact of the program on this group of children. The study utilized the experimental research approach of one group design of pre- and post-measurements. The study sample consisted of (9) autistic children (4-8), who were enrolled in Kayan Center for Training, Rehabilitation, and Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities for 2021/2022. For data collection, the study utilized the following tools: the pictured listening skill scale for autistic children (prepared by the researcher), ), the Childhood Autism Rating Scale–Second Edition (CARS2), The Stanford Binet intelligence scale 5th ed. (Muhammad Taha, Abd al-Mawgoud Abd al-Sami', 2011), a language enrichment program based on one of the artificial intelligence applications to develop the listening skill among autistic children (prepared by the researcher). Results revealed the effectiveness of the language enrichment program based on an artificial intelligence application in developing the listening skill of autistic children. Besides, results also indicated the continuous and lasting impact of the program used on the children of the study sample after a month of its application. In light of these results, recommendations and further research suggestions were presented.
