Summary:
Children usually need means and tools to express themselves. The spoken and written languages are not the only possible means of expression, but there are many ways that children use to express and communicate with others. The drawing is one of the best of these means, because it allows expression freely without restriction and heavy dependence on Verbal language that these children, especially younger ones, may not be good at. In this study, the researchers believe in the richness and fertility of children’s drawings and that they are a non-verbal language that can direct to the outside world, and that they are good means of communicating with others, characterized by the ability to reveal different featurs of the child’s personality. So In this study, the researchers try to shed light on a set of indications that albinism children may include in their drawings, perhaps it could help specialists for building educational programs to meet the shortcomings in the educational communicative process between albinism children and their world. Therefore, the current study seeks to extract the formal featurs and psychological indications that may be included in the drawings of albinism children. Thus, the research aimed to identify: the percentages of the expressing elements of the general form, and the psychological indications in the albinism children's drawings, as well as revealing the correlation between the general shape and the psychological indications in these drawings.
For achieveing this aim, the descriptive analytical method was used, as well as, two tools were used: a survey on the subject of drawing, and an analyistic list of drawings(prepared by the two researchers). The research sample was limited to a group of albinism children from Minya governorate, consisting of(21) children,(13) males, and(8) females.
The results revealed that, when the albinism children were asked to draw the family, their drawings show distinguishing formal featurs comparing to normal children, in addition, their drawings appear some psychological symbols indicating anxiety, withdrawal, insecurity and introversion.
The new of the current research is dealing with a sample of albinism children, as most of the literature dealing with the medical aspect, ignoring the educational and psychological aspects.
